Remediation Method Statements/Remediation Verification
Contaminated land planning conditions typically require a Remediation Method Statement (RMS) to demonstrate how remediation and other construction phase mitigation measures are to be incorporated into the proposed development.
The RMS is then followed up with a Remediation Verification Report (RVR), evidencing how the RMS was completed and may comprise localised removal of ‘hotspots’ of contamination, clean cover systems (topsoil), upgrading of water pipes and ground gas protection measures.
